Today is 26th January, the day we celebrate the soul of our Constitution—a day of pride, purpose, and patriotism.
On this day in 1950, India became a republic, and our Constitution—one of the world’s most detailed and democratic documents—came into force. It’s more than a celebration; it’s a reminder of who we are and who we want to be.

📚 Why 26 January Matters: A Quick History
Before 1950, India had gained independence from British rule on 15 August 1947, but we were still governed under British colonial law.
To truly be free, we needed:

A constitution written by Indians, for Indians.

A structure that reflected our diverse society and democratic values.
And so, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, the Father of the Indian Constitution, led the charge. The Constituent Assembly worked hard for nearly 3 years, and finally, on 26 January 1950, our Constitution came into effect.
